Customer information

Privacy notice

How Truvo Electrical Solutions collects, uses, protects and retains customer information.

Information Truvo collects

This may include your name, email address, telephone number, job address and postcode; what you tell Truvo about the work; questionnaire answers and photographs you choose to provide; quotations, messages, appointments and payment records; and limited technical or enquiry-source information used to keep the service secure and understand how genuine enquiries arrive.

How and why it is used

Truvo uses this information to respond to your request, assess the proposed work, prepare estimates and quotations, arrange and complete work, communicate with you, record payments and meet legal, tax, safety and record-keeping duties. Depending on the activity, this is necessary to take steps at your request or perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, or pursue Truvo's legitimate interests in operating a secure, well-run electrical business and handling disputes. Consent will be requested separately if it is needed for an optional use.

Who information is shared with

Information is not sold. It may be shared only where reasonably necessary with website, hosting, email and other service providers acting for Truvo, professional advisers, or a regulator, court or public authority where the law requires it. Access is limited to authorised people and suppliers who need it for the relevant purpose.

International processing and automated estimates

Some technology suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, Truvo expects an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards to be used; you can ask for further details. The website can calculate an indicative estimate from the answers supplied, but it does not make a solely automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect. A formal quotation is reviewed by Truvo.

Security and photographs

Customer records are held in access-controlled systems. Uploaded photographs are stored outside the public website and are served only through protected customer or administration routes. No online service can promise absolute security, but Truvo uses practical access, logging and deletion controls to reduce risk.

How long information is kept

Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected and for relevant legal, tax, warranty, safety or dispute periods. Current review points are 30 days for sent email-message content, 24 months for photographs on completed or inactive work and 36 months for declined or archived enquiries. These are review points rather than promises that every connected record will be deleted on that date; a record may be kept longer where there is a valid reason.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for a copy of your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to particular processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Truvo may need to confirm your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it. Requests will normally be answered within one month.

Questions and complaints

Contact Truvo using the email address below and include enough detail to identify the relevant enquiry. If a concern is not resolved, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. You also have the right to seek a remedy through the courts.
